Forum-Memory Manifesto

Forum-Memory is a contemporary artist group established in Ankara and consists of artists who are living and working in Ankara in Turkey. The main intersecting point of these artists is that they are working in different areas at the same time. This group whose attitudes are in favor of new and radical tendencies wishes to contribute to both the Ankara and Turkey contemporary art scenes within the context of some crucial art matters related with local and global by corresponding with contemporary art writers as well as artists. Each of the members belong to different disciplines such as painting, interior design and sculpture is seeking for a new energy circulating in their creative process.

Forum-Memory is the first contemporary group movement in Ankara. Forum-Memory is not a battle/struggle group yet it, as a group searching for its own collocutors, desires to constitute new communication grounds in terms of sharing the worriesof the local/global art contexts. That is why it can be considered that the main aim of the Forum/Memory is to grasp the social realities, outside life appearance and to work like city archaelogists.

The group also wishes to publish an art magazine two times a year under the title of the group name along with realizing group exhibitions in parallel with the magazine. Forum-Memory wants to get to know better and present contemporary art both at home and abroad through this magazine that will be published in Turkish and English.
